Goatfire/Fiendish Ruminations/Total Holocaust Records/2004 Cd-Demo Compilation Review

Goatfire where a band from Italy that played a very raw, disgusting and primitive form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 2004 Demo Compilation album "Fiendish Ruminations" which was released by Total Holocaust Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the organs which are only utilized on a few of song's mainly on the third demo they bring the feeling of a black and white horror film to the music..

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding with a small amount of dark sounding melody as well as a brief use of clean playing being utilized on the later demos and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are a mixture of grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams as well as a brief use of clean singing being utilized on one song, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Darkness and Anti Christian themes and on the 5th demo there are some songs written in Latin, as for the production it has a very raw and primitive sound and you can tell that the music that was translated in cd came from cassette tape demos.

In my opinion Goatfire where a very great sounding raw and primitive satanic band which you can hear progressed a lot with each demo and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Goatfire" "Frozen Remains" "Defloration Of The Holy Land" and "where Titans Of Blasphemy Sit". RECOMMENDED BUY.
