Gromkult/Satanvolk/Glossolalia Records/2011 Split EP Review

This  is a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  Oregon's  Gromkult  and  Satanvolk  which  was  released  in  2011  by  Glossolalia  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Gromkult  a  band  that  plays  a very  raw  and  primitive  form  of  black  metal.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they h ave  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  dark  sounding  melodies  being  used  at  times  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  and  leads  present  on  their  side  of  the  recording.

Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  that  go  very  fast  at  times  along  with  some  deep  demonic  growls,  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  worship  of  Grom,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Gromkult  are  a  very  great  sounding  dark,  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Khaoshit Rapethroat".  RECOMMENDED.

Next  up  is  Satanvolk  a  band  that  plays  a  very  noisy,  raw  and  primitive  form  of  satanic  black  metal.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to   fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  noisy,  raw  and primitive  sounding  in  the  old  school  tradition  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  and  leads  present  on  their  side  of  the  recording.

Vocals a re  mostly  grim  sounding  and  high pitched  black  metal  screams  with  some  deeper  vocals,  while  the  lyrics  cover  satanic  and  anti  christian  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  raw  and primitive  sound  it.

In  my  opinion  Satanvolk  are  a  very  great  sounding  noisy,  raw  and  primitive  satanic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a f an  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out their  side  of  the  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Tortured  Forever  By  Satanvolk  In  The  Depths  Of  Hell".  RECOMMENDED.

In  conclusion  I  feel  that  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal.  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
