Dusk are a solo project from Hungary that plays a satanic form of atmospheric black metal and this is a review of his 2016 compilation album "Satan's Laws" which was released by Possession Productions.
Dark ritualistic sounds start off the album along with some elements of ambient and melodic chanting while drum beats can also be heard in the background and after the intro the music gets more distorted and brings in more of a raw black metal style while synths still can also be heard at times.
Blast beats can be heard during the faster sections of the songs along with a decent amount of tremolo picking while the vocals are done in a very grim style of black metal and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the songs also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
When guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very raw yet melodic style when they are utilized and some of the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody and you can also hear a great amount of 90's second wave influences throughout the recording and there is also a cover of Burzum's "Moti Ragnakum" which also shows the vocals going into more of a high pitched direction and on the last track a small amount of clean playing is added onto the recording.
Dusk plays a style of raw satanic black metal that is very heavily rooted in the 90's while also mixing in some atmospheric and ambient elements which also makes the music stand out a bit more, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Dusk are a very great sounding satanic black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "To Follow Him Through All Times" and "Whisper From the Abyss". 8 out of 10.
